Eli Luttmer, who has played soccer for the Tasmanian Institute of Sport (TIS) and also represented Tasmania at a National level, has been identified by Football Federation Australia as a potential Australian representative. Unfortunately Eli has suffered a serious back injury, which requires expensive career-saving surgery. To help Eli raise funds to pay for the surgery a concert has been organised for this coming weekend.

124 Davey St
$10 entry on the door or phone 0417574219

If you would like to help a promising young player overcome injury and achieve his dreams, please consider attending the concert and helping Eli to raise the funds needed.

Woodbridge Community Sports Facility

Woodbridge Soccer Club, in conjunction with Woodbridge Cricket Club, has submitted an application to build new facilities, comprising changing rooms and clubroom at the western (upper) end of Woodbridge Oval. Kingborough Council has approved funding of $120,000, with a further $80,000 to come in a grant from Sport and Recreation Tasmania. The balance is to be made up in the form of in-kind contributions from the two clubs. This will obviously require substantial input of time and effort from all our members. Please think about what you can contribute to this substantial investment in the future of sport in this area and contact us with your ideas/suggestions.

Final details are yet to be determined but it is hoped that the project will be completed in 2012. We will be meeting with Council soon to discuss the way forward. Watch this space.

No Junior games over the school holidays

Over the June holiday period Central Region Junior Soccer Association (CRJSA) reassesses the placement of teams into divisions to try and ensure a level playing field. During this period teams can be moved up or down into more suitable leagues.

The junior Winter Roster runs from 25th June to around 27th August.

The new rosters should be available by the 20th June, on the CRJSA website.

Have a great holiday! We look forward to seeing you back, rested and refreshed and ready for some winter football fun.
